Hawthorn leaves as a natural dye
The hawthorn is looking amazing at the moment - especially in the valley that stretches out along the burn.
I set up a couple of dye pots, one with just leaves and one with twigs and leaves. Both were simmered for an hour and left overnight. I added cotton threads and some wool
This is the results from the hawthorn leaves on cotton threads
