Dark mordant problems

I mordanted some of the damask table cloth with a darker mordant (10% ferrous sulphate) yesterday.

I hung them over a string 'washing line' in exactly the same way as I had the light mordants and came into this - where the iron had collected there are rusty lines.

It looks as though most of it will wash out in the rinsing stage - and as these are for resting it isn't an issue; but I shall have to find a better drying solution if I decide to work with a dark mordant.
