A day of frustration

I got the exciting news that I have received a VACMA (Visual artist and craft makers) grant from Forth Valley so that I can develop my ideas for botanical contact prints.

As soon as I heard things seemed to start going wrong!

For a few hours all the prints looked like this

Then, once I managed to get them actually printing the edges were bleeding out into smudges.

About 3.30 I tried putting a sheet of dry paper between the fabric and the blanket that holds the water for the steam.

It worked and the prints are much neater.

I made nine and will see how they are when dry tomorrow.
