Plant dyed alpaca socks
The cosiest of house socks. A kind of cosy luxury, perfect for padding about the house, curling up on the sofa, keeping warm by the fire or when at your desk. Great as bed socks or when you just need a bit of comfort.
These alpaca socks are knitted for me in Leicestershire and I have then hand dyed them in tiny batches using plants growing here in the garden. I find that they get softer and fluffier the more they are worn.
The colours are soft and no two pairs are exactly the same - it seems to depend on exactly where the plant was growing.
I have divided the socks into colours and you can see them in the photos.
The yellows are from meadowsweet and gorse.
The olives, tans, stones, beiges are from dock leaves, nettles, plum bark and bracken.
I have put details of the plant, the location and the dye date on the packaging which is 100% recycled paper printed in house to avoid waste.
Size medium, UK4-7, Europe 37-41
They should be washed very carefully - either hand wash or use a wool programme under 30 degrees.
