The next Studio course begins in April.
We’ll be making our own nature journals from scratch, taking a hardback book and giving it a new life as a seasonal record, something to carry your observations, your discoveries, and the old practices you’re drawing back into your days.
Along the way you’ll learn to make signatures and bind them, to dye paper, to print with cyanotype and contact printing, to press flowers, create pockets and fastenings.
We’ll also be asking whose records survived, what they chose to notice, and why it matters that we’re doing this now.
And then you’ll use what you’ve made to record what you notice around you: what’s growing, what’s fading, what your ancestors might have marked at this time of year.
Your own book, made by your own hands, filled with your own season.
