CORE CLASS: INTRODUCTION TO FREEHAND MACHINE EMBROIDERY: taught by Jane Lindsey
I have never regarded myself as artistic. At school I couldn’t draw, I wasn’t allowed to sit and art exams and pretty much left education feeling that I wasn’t creative at all.
And yet . . . .
For the past 17 years I have made my living as a textile artist, drawing with my sewing machine, conjuring up flowers and mugs and hens out of thread and fabric.
I was never taught how to do it - I simply tried and failed and tried again until I came up with fairly fool proof methods.
This ten part course includes them all - it will take you from being a complete beginner to being able to draw confidently with your sewing machine.
I have based it around a series of practical projects, so that you are able to practice your skills and learn through doing.
The e-course covers choosing a machine and materials, tension, speed and then there are three creative projects which develop your skills and abilities.
Lessons are a mix of text, videos and downloads. All are available in the e-course section as soon as you log in.
