The Studio: A Place to Return to Your Creative Self
Every Tuesday morning, a letter arrives in your inbox.
Not with tasks or homework - with a story, an observation, a noticing. Perhaps about fungi fruiting in the leaf litter. Or your grandmother’s hands at the kitchen table. Or the particular quality of October light.
And you might find yourself, later that week, filling your pockets with acorns in the woods. Suddenly understanding something you couldn’t articulate before.
This is The Studio.

“I love your content, so inspiring and very gentle, the flow of life
with the flow of the seasons. The Studio Club adds a little bit
of richness to my days. This is what I have been looking for” J.N.
If You've Been Looking and Nothing Quite Fits...
You’ve probably noticed: most creative memberships are single-issue.
They teach you one skill. Or they’re networking groups for business. Or they focus on wellness and healing. Or they’re about events and socialising.
All good things. But perhaps not what you’re actually looking for.
Because what you want isn’t a course to complete or a challenge to finish or a network to leverage. What you want is somewhere to make and gather and notice. To reconnect with the part of yourself that’s curious, observant, creative - not as a project, but as a way of being in the world.
The Studio is that somewhere.
It’s the only membership that holds all of it together: the making, the gathering, the connection, the community. Shaped by and for mid-life women who want creativity woven into their lives, not as another thing to achieve.
If that resonates with you, you’re welcome here.
Learn to notice what’s already here.
What We Mean by “Creative Sanctuary”
Not outcomes. Not productivity. Not even primarily about learning, though you will learn.
The generosity here is in the slowness. The calm. The open-endedness.
You might stitch for months without knowing why, then one day see the pattern. You might spend a season just reading what others share, letting it settle. You might come to every Friday Live, or you might just keep the Tuesday Letters and work quietly alone alongside us.
There’s no keeping up. Nothing disappears. No one’s checking if you’re “doing it right.”
This is creativity as a way of being, not doing.
We investigate why things work the way they do - why fungi fruit in autumn, why our grandmothers gathered certain plants at certain times, what happens in our bodies when we work with our hands. We notice seasonal patterns. We explore the ecology behind traditional practices.
Then we make something in response. Slowly, seasonally, with intention.
No chemistry formulas. No technical specifications. Just grounded observation, practical making, and the connections between them.
A Different Kind of Community
No social media. No noise. No performance.
Just a private space built on generosity, kindness, and shared creative rhythms.
This isn’t networking. It’s not about what you can offer or achieve. It’s about being met where you are - whether you’re sharing photos of your stitching or just saying “I’m struggling this week” or asking “does anyone else feel this way about November?”
The forum is full of wisdom, warmth, and genuine encouragement. Not the performative kind. The real kind - where someone says “yes, me too” or “have you tried...” or “I needed to hear this today.”
Some members dip in weekly for peace. Others dive deep into the themes. Many come just to feel not-so-alone in wanting to make things, gather things, notice things.
You’ll find your rhythm with it. That’s the point.

How The Studio Actually Works
The Studio isn’t a course with a start and end date. It’s ongoing. You’re joining something already in motion - like walking into a workspace where other makers are gathered, pulling up a chair, finding your place.
Your weekly rhythm:
Tuesday Letter (email, members only)
The heartbeat of The Studio. A story, what’s happening this week, always something to notice. This is where you’ll feel the thread running through everything.
Friday Live (5pm UK, Zoom)
We gather to work, share, talk through that week’s theme. Can’t make it live? Recordings stay in The Studio forever. Some people never miss one. Others watch months later. Both fine.
Friday Films (YouTube, public)
These weave into what we’re doing inside The Studio, but they’re available to everyone. You’ll see how they connect once you’re in.
Your making space:
The Studio forum
A quiet corner of the internet. Share your work, ask questions, show what you’ve gathered. Gentle, thoughtful conversations that continue for weeks, not performative social media.
Private blogs
To share life here.
Comment threads under everything
Real responses, not likes.
Your resources:
Themed courses (launch every 6 months)
Like the current Threaded series. Slow, deep-dive making that unfolds over weeks. These stay available - work through them at your own pace.
Video tutorials
When you need them.
Seasonal guidance and historical context
For what we’re making and why.
Optional companion kits
If you want materials gathered for you. Never required.
What It Looks Like in Practice
Some members come to every Friday Live and post regularly. Others watch recordings when they can and mostly read what everyone else is making. Some dive deep into the courses, others just dip in for the Tuesday Letters and work on their own projects alongside us.
There’s no “right way” to be here.
You join something ongoing. Come in, look around, find your rhythm with it. Stay as long as it serves you.
The Technical Bit
Everything lives at snapdragonlife.com. Once you join, you get a member login for the forum, courses, and private areas.
Tuesday Letters come to your email.
Friday Lives are on Zoom (link in your weekly letter).
That’s it.
