Vintage patchwork needle case
These needle cases are made from scraps of an old red and white log cabin quilt which was too badly damaged to use. The quilt probably dates from the first half of the C19th when turkey red and white log cabin quilts were popular. I was made in a time pre-rotary cutters and this slight wonkiness is preserved in the needle cases.
The outside is embroidered with a meadow design, the inside is made from patchwork pieces and has a pocket on the back cover. The fastening is a C19th black button.
The original fabric is old and damaged through use and you can see this in the needle case - please do not buy if you are expecting a perfect condition.
