Making hanging heart decorations from honesty seed heads
I first made these honesty decorations about 10 years ago.
I grew flowers commercially then and had a lot of left over honesty seedheads - if seemed daft not to do something with them.
So I made large door rings with velvet bows and these little ethereal hearts. I sold them at the Country Living Fair, at farmers markets, from the garden gate.
I also made these as wedding favours - at one particularly beautiful wedding in a grand old, slightly dilapidated building they hung from giant arrangements of red dogwood on the sweeping staircase.
The dogwood was arranged in urns, standing in panelled niches with these hearts hanging from the branches. Rosy red apples were arranged on top of the panelling, the bride wore red velvet.
Honesty seedheads - you can buy these online and I have a few packs online.
Wire - any kind of medium grade wire is fine - the wire I am using in the video is plant wire, floristry or craft wire works too.
A Glue gun - small glue guns can be got for under £10 and are really useful kit.
I would love to know how you get on - even better send me a photo of your finished heart.
