I love this way of bookending your day, Jane. After reading, I realized that I do something similar. I usually start my morning slowly in my upstairs office, often before the sun comes up, and before my household wakes up. I turn on a handmade lamp that my son gave me many years ago, which provides soft light for journaling or reading. If I'm lucky, I'll see the moon pass over my window just before dawn and listen to the birds begin to welcome the day. At the end of the day, I find my way back to my office to read or practice knitting by the same soft light and a rising moon before snuggling myself onto the couch with a blanket, my family, and a puzzle. These bookends are some of my favorite parts of the day, along with time in my garden.
