In reply to Penelope Beer
Hi - the cardigan, all my cardigans really, is based on a 1947 pattern which you can find here https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1078899764/1950s-ladys-jumper-cardigan-pdf-knitting

I do however hack it about a lot, in the orange one I simply increased the number of stitches in the welt rib and worked the increases/decreases as suggested in the pattern, ignoring the “numbers of stitches in a row” numbers. The red and green ones have narrower sleeves and the red one has a large flower motif on the back and striped ribbing.

Did you make your sweater/cardigan? If so would you tell us where we might find the pattern? I am in the U.S. so online and/or ravelry would be lovely.

Thank you for the lovely distraction during this time.

I started making very simple clothes a few years ago ! I wanted to choose my colours and fabrics and buttons and pockets of which I add my own even thought my favourite trousers and pinafore patterns dont have them !! I find it so gratifying and therapeutic ! I am always looking out for new patterns of simple designs nothing too complicated or fiddly!!
For some years now I have carried pebbles and crystals in my winter coat pocket and I love holding them in the palm of my hand whilst walking along ! I also carry my tissues and my car and door keys and sometimes my shopping lists !! I absolutely love my pockets ! Thankyou Jane for informing me of the history of pockets I loved that !
